Sucessfully implemented urban projects

The City of Pilsen has successfully implemented a number of projects. The Urban Planning and Development Institute of the City of Pilsen was directly involved in some of these projects, the most significant being the Municipal Industrial Park Plzeň Borská pole (see the right-hand column for more details) and the first stage of the Pilsen Science and Technology Park.

The Municipal Industrial Park Plzeň Borská pole has an area of 105 hectares and is located in the southwest section of the city, near the University of West Bohemia campus. About 40% of the companies located here are purely Czech; German and Japanese companies are predominant among the international companies. The main investments are into consumer electronics manufacturing, the automotive industry, precise engineering products, air-conditioning systems, forms and plastic prototypes, and strategic services. As of 31 December 2014, the 42 companies provided approximately 8,900 jobs.
