Housing estate renewal

Over the past years, the Urban Planning and Development Institute of the City of Pilsen has gradually secured projects aimed at renewing all of the major housing estates in Pilsen. The housing estates are being improved with the aim of creating a more pleasant atmosphere that are closer to current living requirements. The approved projects serve as the conceptual basis for drawing up specific documentation to implement individual projects, and at the same time are a basic requirement for options to receive grants towards project implementation.
 
In 2009, the Pilsen 3 district council approved projects to renew the housing estates in Přední Skvrňany and Zadní Skvrňany, thus ending the process of approving projects in individual areas.
 
Working with the Municipality of Pilsen's Economic Office, city district authorities and the Public Space Management Authority of the City of Pilsen, the Urban Planning and Development Institute of the City of Pilsen prepared and submitted applications for grants from the programme supporting housing estate renewal announced by the Ministry for Regional Development for 2009. Unfortunately, though, the applications were turned down this time as well. Individual renewal measures must therefore continue to be carried out only within the means of local city and district budgets.
